Special Delivery Doulas was founded in 1991 to the meet the needs of an ever-growing population of women that do not have the support they need in making the transition into motherhood. In most cultures and in many other countries, there is help provided for new moms up to six weeks after giving birth. At the time we began our doula service, moms were being released from the hospital 24 hours after giving birth. Our hope was to help each family that we cared for transition into parenthood as smoothly as possible. Most of what we did then and still do today is mentor the mothers we care for. We tailor the care for each mom to her needs and desires.~ Links
